MEET GREEK AMERICAN GREG NERANTZIS NAMED TO THE FORBES “BEST-IN-STATE WEALTH ADVISORS” AT THE HERMES EXPO

By David Bjorkgren, Editor - Special to the Hellenic News of America

Gregory Nerantzis, Senior Vice President & Senior Financial Advisor Merrill Lynch

Greg Nerantzis has 33 years of wealth management experience to share with his fellow Greek Americans.

The 57-year-old is a Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch and he is a sponsor and participant at this year’s Hermes Expo, set to take place April 25th in Philadelphia.

The Expo is entering its 27th year and will take place for the first time at the Arts Ballroom on Locust Street in Center City Philadelphia.

The Expo provides a gathering place for Greek American, regional and international business owners to meet, network and create business opportunities and partnerships.

Nerantzis, a Greek American who was named to the Forbes “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors” list in 2018* is eager to talk with successful business owners and professionals who would like to work with a wealth management team. This will be his first year at the Expo.

“It has always been my desire to stay culturally and professionally connected to the Greek American business community”, he said. “To me, this Expo presents a tangible expression of my love and support for the Greek American community and our common heritage, struggle, and our Greek Orthodox faith.”

Nerantzis says he heard about the Expo through the Hellenic News of America and through his relationship with publisher and Expo creator and organizer, Paul Kotrotsios.

Nerantzis, returns to Greece every year because he loves the country, and also, because it is important to him that his wife and children have the opportunity to experience and deepen their appreciation of their cultural and spiritual heritage.

One goal of the Expo, he says, is to tell the Greek story and what Greek culture has contributed to America. The annual event demonstrates what Hellenism has brought to the business world. Plus, the professional relationships formed at the Expo just make good business sense.

“I see this as kind of a way for like-minded people to gather, organize, and to support each other in this great country where we live”, he says.

Nerantzis grew up in Takoma Park, Maryland. His parents came to America from Northern Epirus as post-World War II refugees. They struggled financially but, they eventually became owners of a successful seafood restaurant in Washington, D.C. First and second generation Greeks, like his parents, learned about the struggle needed to succeed, and also about patience, hard work, and thrift. Today, those Hellenistic values have been transferred to the new generations of GreeAmerican business owners.

“My support is not merely to “meet Greek business owners”, I don’t look at it this way. I am supporting this because I believe in what it represents. Of course, I would love to meet Greek Business owners who would love to work with a Wealth Management Advisor whose Greek heritage is important to them culturally, and professionally, but more than anything, I want to support what Mr. Kotrotsios is doing here with these Expo’s.”
